About Emily

Emily works at the intersection of body-based therapy and neuroscience. She offers an integrative approach that combines Somatic Experiencing®, somatic yoga therapy, and applied neuroscience to help clients gently reconnect with their bodies,

regulate the nervous system, and build resilience.

Her sessions are inclusive, trauma-informed, and client-led - supporting people with chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, trauma, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), or those simply wishing to feel more at ease and at home in themselves.

Background & Approach

Emily holds an MSc in Psychology & Neuroscience of the Mind-Body Interface from King’s College London and works as a therapist-researcher in the NEUROADS Lab, where she is leading a clinical study on the role of somatic yoga for FND. This grounding in research and practice allows her to bridge cutting-edge science with compassionate, embodied care.

Somatic Experiencing® therapy

Emily's integrative method draws on multiple perspectives of the nervous system - autonomic, interoceptive, musculoskeletal, and emotional - to see and support each person as a whole.

In sessions, Emily weaves together:

  • Somatic Experiencing® therapy - a gentle approach to trauma resolution, regulation, and the renegotiation of overwhelming experiences.

  • Somatic yoga therapy - breath-aware, mindful movement practices to release stress and tension, improve mobility, and deepen interoceptive awareness.

  • Applied neuroscience - bringing the latest mind-body research into practical tools for stress reduction, emotional balance, and nervous system health.

Her work is informed by over a decade of experience in trauma-informed somatic practice and yoga, alongside specialised training in neuro-biomechanics, applied neurology, and the psychology of music and movement.

For bookings and enquiries, please contact the Centre or contact Emily on emily@somaticyogacoach.com
