About Tess

I’m a fully qualified and accredited acupuncturist based in Brighton and Hove. My clients often describe my clinic as a safe space - somewhere they feel heard, supported, and at ease. Creating that sense of trust and calm is at the heart of my work, and something I deeply value.

I hold a BSc (Hons) from the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, where I trained in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element acupuncture. I treat a wide range of conditions, including musculoskeletal pain, women’s health issues, chronic migraines, and sleep disturbances, and I have a passion for supporting mental and emotional wellbeing. I use fire cups, gua sha, and ear seeds alongside needles, depending on your diagnosis, to create a truly personalised treatment.

I also hold further qualifications in cosmetic acupuncture, a treatment I love giving, and often combine it with other relaxing techniques such as facial cupping and gua sha. Each treatment is tailored to help you feel as radiant on the inside as you look on the outside.

Outside of my practice, I love skateboarding and surfing. I believe that play and having fun — no matter your age — are golden keys to a joyous heart. As the Chinese proverb says, “We can find no wealth above a healthy body and a happy heart,” and I love how this reminds us that emotional happiness and physical wellbeing are life’s greatest treasures.

I look forward to meeting you and being part of your journey toward greater balance, vitality, and wellbeing.

About Tess's Treatments

Acupuncture

Acupuncture uses fine, sterile, single-use needles placed gently at specific points around the body. Each point has its own unique purpose, helping to restore balance and encourage your body’s natural ability to heal. The number and placement of needles are always tailored to what you need that day, whether it’s easing pain, improving sleep, or supporting emotional wellbeing.

Fire Cupping

Fire cupping involves using glass cups that create a gentle suction on the skin to encourage circulation and release tension. It’s a deeply relaxing treatment that can help with aches, stiffness, coughs, and colds. Sometimes I use a little oil to glide the cups smoothly across the body. It’s completely painless and often leaves people feeling looser, lighter, and more at ease. Cupping can be used as a stand-alone therapy or alongside acupuncture.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a beautiful, traditional technique that helps relieve muscle tension, ease pain, and move Qi (your body’s vital energy). It can also help clear heat or inflammation and promote a sense of flow and lightness in the body. Depending on what you need, Gua Sha can be used on its own or as part of your acupuncture session.

Moxibustion (Moxa)

Moxibustion - often called Moxa - uses gently warmed Chinese mugwort to nourish and strengthen the body. It’s wonderful for fatigue, coldness, or simply when you need a boost, and it’s especially helpful through the autumn and winter months to support immunity. I use smokeless moxa in my clinic for a calm and comfortable experience.

Facial Acupuncture + Cupping

Facial acupuncture combines ultra-fine, single-use needles with soothing facial cupping and Gua Sha to lift, tone, and rejuvenate the skin. I use 100% natural and organic prickly pear oil to nourish and hydrate throughout the treatment. Each session is designed not only to enhance your natural glow but also to leave you feeling deeply relaxed, refreshed, and radiant.
