Acupuncture - Five Element & Traditional 

Sarah trained at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (affiliated by Kingston University) and graduated with a BSc in Acupuncture in 2014.    

 

The style of acupuncture that Sarah trained in incorporates both Five Elements and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).  TCM is rooted in ancient beliefs of the flow of natural energy, or “qi” within the body and the interconnection between this and our  physical and emotional wellbeing.  Five Element Acupuncture is also a mind-body-emotion approach, rooted in ancient chinese cosmological beliefs of our connection and balance with the five elements of Wood, Water, Earth, Fire and Metal.  This approach is especially helpful with emotional problems and spiritual fatigue.  

Sarah was inspired to train as an acupuncturist following her own experience of receiving both styles of acupuncture for various conditions. She is delighted to be able to offer an integration of both these styles as a holistic treatment that recognises the connection between mind, body and spirit with the aim to restore balance and benefit health and wellbeing.  

Sarah is especially interested and additionally trained in Womens’ Health, from fertility to pregnancy to menopause and everything in-between.  Sarah is also a registered nurse and has a special interest in using acupuncture to help patients cope with the side-effects with western medical treatments, especially cancer therapy.  She has volunteered extensively in the past for Macmillan in Brighton. In addition, Sarah is experienced in treating a wide variety of other conditions.  

Sarah holds a full registration with the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC), which is an association for acupuncture clinicians, run by acupuncturists.  They recognise and encourage the superior standard of training required to be a professional acupuncturist.
