About Sarah

Sarah Hutchinson is a therapeutic practitioner who supports clients through the process of healing and reconnection using Somatic Experiencing® (SE) techniques, working with body, mind, and nervous system awareness; supported with the creative  approach of Neuro Dramatic Play®.

With a warm, grounded presence, Sarah creates a safe space where clients can listen deeply to what their bodies are expressing and gently release held trauma, emotion, and stress. Her approach is nurturing and empowering, allowing each person to uncover their own inner resources, return to a state of balance and regulation, and reconnect with a sense of aliveness and possibility.

Sarah's practice supports those navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, grief, overwhelm, life transitions, and trauma recovery (including trauma related to abuse). She is also specialised in attachment work, and in supporting neurodivergent clients. Sarah also works with clients who are exploring their life vision, self-expression, and the desire to live more authentically.

Alongside SE, Sarah is a trained Neuro Dramatic Play® practitioner, a creative, therapeutic approach that uses storytelling, movement, and play to help people reconnect with their inner world and express themselves freely. Through all her work, she encourages a deep connection to the body’s wisdom, empowering confidence, authenticity, and resilience.

About Somatic Experiencing® (SE)

Somatic Experiencing® (SE) is a body-oriented approach to working with the effects of trauma and stress. Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, SE is based on the understanding that traumatic experiences can become "stuck" in the nervous system, leading to symptoms such as anxiety, tension, or emotional overwhelm.

Rather than focusing only on thoughts or verbal processing, SE helps individuals tune into physical sensations and body responses. By gently attending to these internal cues, the nervous system can begin to release stress, restore balance, and return to a greater sense of safety and regulation.

Sessions involve exploring body sensation, movement, imagery, or memory - always at a pace that feels safe and manageable. Clients are supported to build inner resources, relaese stuck patterns held in the body, and increase their capacity to meet life with calm and resilience. SE can be helpful for a wide range of issues, including developmental, medical, and relational trauma, as well as the cumulative effects of long-term stress.

Sarah empowers her clients with easy-to-use tools and practices for self-regulation, supporting ongoing integration and wellbeing at home between sessions.
