ABOUT OSCAR

Oscar is an experienced and caring osteopath, acupuncturist and clinical massage therapist with over 12 years' experience in physical therapy. He enjoys working with a diverse range of people – from those recovering from recent injuries, to individuals managing chronic pain and other long-term conditions, as well as sports-focused clients aiming to reach their full functional potential.

Drawing on his training in osteopathy, clinical massage and Chinese medicine, Oscar takes an integrated, holistic approach to healthcare. He views health as more than just the absence of symptoms, and takes time to understand each person in the wider context of their life, history and mind-body wellbeing. Although Chinese medicine is no longer central to his practice, its principles continue to inform his work in subtle but meaningful ways.

Sessions with Oscar begin with a thorough conversation and musculoskeletal assessment, allowing time to explore both the immediate concern and the bigger picture. He prioritises building a positive therapeutic relationship with each client, working collaboratively to clarify goals and co-create a treatment plan. Hands-on work may include a blend of osteopathic techniques – such as joint articulation, functional techniques and cranial osteopathy (in which he holds a postgraduate certification) – as well as soft-tissue approaches like massage and myofascial release.

Oscar has a special interest in sports injury prevention and rehabilitation. He has worked with Lewes FC U21s and now supports the Lewes Veterans team. As a keen runner himself, he especially enjoys working with fellow runners and endurance athletes, whatever their level or training stage.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Osteopathy from the University College of Osteopathy (2021), where he completed his research dissertation on interoception – the science of how we sense and experience our bodies from within – a subject that continues to inform his treatment approach. He first qualified in clinical and sports massage in 2015 at Brighton’s respected Jing Institute of Advanced Clinical Massage, later joining the teaching team alongside his private practice. Today, he teaches up to BTEC Level 6 – the highest massage therapy qualification currently offered in the UK.

Outside of work, Oscar enjoys spending time with his young family, and pursuing his long-standing passion for traditional Chinese martial arts and meditation. He’s also a familiar sight on the trails of the South Downs National Park, running the hills around his home in Lewes, East Sussex.
