Osteopath - Structural & Cranial

Specialising in pain & injuries; pregnancy; babies & children

Dorothy is an experienced osteopath who treats everyone from the very young to the very old and everyone in between; she is passionate about helping people to feel better in themselves. She will take time to get to know your unique history, looking at any health challenges you may have faced in the past, and whatever is going on for you now, in order to build up a picture of who you are and how she can help.

Dorothy qualified as an Osteopath from the British School of Osteopathy (now HSU University College of Osteopathy) in 2013 with a Masters of Osteopathy (M.Ost). Since then she has gone on to pursue further specialist studies in Cranial Osteopathy and Paediatric Osteopathy. She trained at the prestigious Osteopathic Centre for Children, undergoing a rigorous two year post graduate training programme and qualifying with a Diploma in Paediatric Osteopathy in 2016.

Alongside her work helping adults, Dorothy has very significant experience treating babies, children, pregnant and post-partum women, and has been a clinical tutor in paediatrics at the University College of Osteopathy since 2023. She has undertaken extensive post-graduate level training with the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy, of which she is now a Member. Dorothy also completed a 200hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2023.

Dorothy has a gentle approach to treatment, with a focus on the use of Cranial Osteopathy techniques (these are for the whole body, not just the cranium!), alongside the appropriate use of soft tissue and mobilisation techniques. She will provide advice on exercise and movement when needed, and will work with you to bring your body back into balance, restoring a sense of health and well-being. She recognises that we are all completely unique, so a course of treatment may vary in length and frequency from person to person and is always a collaboration between patient and practitioner.

In her spare time Dorothy loves music, dance and yoga and tries to get into nature and swim in the sea as often as she can.
