Integrative psychotherapy is a unifying psychotherapy that considers the importance of the whole person, paying attention to thoughts, feelings and somatic symptoms which cause dissonance and distress. The therapist seeks to move beyond the symptoms, to engage with the client at the source of the disturbance, without pathologising or judging. In doing so the psychotherapist accepts 'what is', recognising and witnessing imbalance and that which needs healing.
Having participated in a rigorous and enriching training, which includes depth work of an experiential, clinical and academic nature, Sharon is able to use a variety of methods and skills to assist in the therapeutic process.
Psychotherapy offers you a safe space in which to look at issues affecting your life. Sharon works with adults who suffer from a variety of emotional difficulties, and it might be helpful for you to know that she has experience working with a variety of psychological issues including the following:
Anxiety/stress, Depression, Family/relational problems, Low self-esteem
Emotional difficulties, Abuse, Life crises/ feeling stuck, Loss & bereavement, Relationship problems and Trauma
The aims of psychotherapy will vary for each client, but it is hoped that all individuals will gain a greater sense of balance and well-being in their lives, improving their sense of agency, capacity for choice and flexibility.
