Kim is a pregnancy and post-natal yoga instructor, doula and mother of two. During the course of her own pregnancies and births she became aware of what a hugely transformative time this is in a woman’s life. Although pregnancy can be a beautiful and exciting time, there are also so many physical and emotional changes occurring which can lead to feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or isolated. Therefore it can  be vital to have support and  resources to help you feel more relaxed, at ease and reassured during your pregnancy, as well as make you more comfortable and prepare you for birth. Kim had practiced yoga for years  but especially noticed the incredible benefits it provided her with during pregnancy. By having a doula and practicing yoga during this very important transition in her life, she became a strong  advocate for both. She now feels thrilled to be able to  support and empower women on their own unique journey through pregnancy and birth.

 

Kim is part of Lushtums (www.lushtums.co.uk), who are experts in pregnancy yoga and antenatal education.

 

Pregnancy Yoga Classes

 

Kim teaches pregnancy yoga classes on Mondays, 12-1.30pm and on Fridays, 5.05-6.20pm.

 

No previous yoga experience is necessary with the classes tailored to suit everyone’s needs. We recommend beginning from week 15/16 of pregnancy onwards.  (Please arrive a few minutes before to get settled in.)

 

The classes create time out for YOU to calm your mind and balance your emotions, whilst strengthening your body and staying fit during your pregnancy. Being healthy helps you and your baby. And these classes aim to help by creating relaxation, reducing stress, lowering anxiety and, where relevant, supporting individual's with depression.

 

Practicing yoga gives your immune system a boost and relieves many common pregnancy ailments, such as back ache, heart-burn, insomnia and SPD.

 

Learn key coping strategies for birth including how to breathe and move and relax during labour and birth.

 

Practice essential movements to help babies into optimal positions to help encourage smoother births.

 

Connect with your babies and take time out to enjoy being pregnant!

 

Share your experiences in a welcoming and supportive space and be heard, with all the ups and downs our journeys take us on.

 

And meet other lovely mamas-to-be in your local area, build your network of support and friendship by connecting in with others in your community.
