Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of healthcare and has been used for over 2000 years to encourage the self-healing properties within the body to bring about a state of balance. Western medical acupuncture involves the insertion of fine needles into specific muscle points and is adapted from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) using current knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology. These fine needles stimulate the nervous system and aid in the treatment of many emotional and physical symptoms, particularly within the musculoskeletal system.

Whilst Chinese medicine uses traditional principles of Qi and energy meridians, western medical acupuncture uses specific points in the body to address pain management and myofascial trigger points with far reaching benefits to the individual.
