Ayurveda

Ayurveda is one of the great gifts from the spiritual teachers of ancient India. It is accepted as the oldest scientific medical system still in use and it treats people as a whole, respecting the combination of body, mind and spirit.

More than simply complementary medical care, Ayurveda offers a philosophy whereby one may help with unnecessary suffering and living a healthy lifestyle. Known as the mother of all medical systems, Ayurveda has undergone continuous research, development and refinement over the past 5000 years.

Originally from India, Ayurveda is currently experiencing world-wide popularity as a revival sweeps in all continents. Ayurveda employs the judicious application of nutritional guidance, herbal medicines, exercise therapy, meditation and many special rejuvenation and purification therapies.

Ayurveda is a patient-orientated system of healing, focusing on the type of person who has the disease, rather than just understanding the type of disease the person has. In Ayurveda, we believe that to change from a diseased body to a healthy one, your mind has to change first!

Ayurvedic Treatments:

Pindasvedana

This treatment uses hot herbal bags to release muscle tension and can benefit the circulation and has a detoxifying effect. Diseases like chronic rheumatism, osteoarthritis, gout, facial paralysis, joint pains and aching muscles may be helped by this technique.

Prakruti

In this treatment, we find your individual constitutional type, by examination of the tongue, taking the pulse and asking questions about physical, mental and emotional patterns. This determines which of the functions/doshas is out of balance, and leading to dis-ease. I will also give advice on diet, exercise, yoga and breathing techniques (pranayama).

Ayurvedic Dietary Advice

Micha normally starts with dietary advice to restore the body’s natural balance.

Ayurveda works with the energy, not with the chemistry, of food which is easy to understand once explained in combination with your constitution. Micha then will provide you with specific food lists which are easy to use.

Ayurveda believes that any ailment starts with an imbalance of the five elements (space, air, fire, earth and water) which constitute the human being, and therefore it aims to balance them. Food is seen as medicine and whatever you consume has a direct impact on your body and mind. 60% of Ayurveda aims to prevent diseases through dietary advice.

Sometimes a small adjustment in your diet and kitchen herbs can be very helpful for people with conditions such as:

Crohn’s Disease - Colitis - IBS - Candida - Skin allergies & inflammations - Acne, Eczema & Psoriasis - Insomnia - Depression - Amnesia - Stress - Fear & Anxiety - Headaches - Weight problems - Fatigue - Thyroid problems

Dietry advice works...

By finding the right diet for your individual constitution.

By finding a lifestyle in harmony with your body and mind.

It can help you deal with stress effectively.

It can help you maximise your energy resources, and live life to the full.

By optimising your digestion.

By balancing your bodily and mental functions.

Ayurvedic Face Massage

This unique massage which focuses on the face, head and neck is sometimes called facial rejuvenation. It involves the application of massage oil and pressure along specific areas on the face, known as the marma points.

Deeply held tensions in the muscles of the face can be released, making your skin appear healthy and toned. It can also detoxify, stimulate lymphatic drainage and improve circulation of blood. Regular massage can help you feel relaxed and rejuvenated, bringing more harmony and balance to your whole body

Ayurvedic Facial

Treat yourself to a unique facial the Indian way; Micha uses warm herbal bags to stimulate the lymphatic system and to flush out toxins, leaving your face glowing.

Your eyes will be soothed with rosewater pads while a herbal mask is applied and will leave your skin rejuvenated. Floral oils will be used to massage your neck, shoulders, face and head using specific pressure points to release tension in your neck and face, leaving you relaxed, refreshed and radiant.

When you book 2 treatments, your 3rd is half price!
